I read in some article on the net that three more seasons of the simpsons have been ordered. I also read in some places that there is a threat to cancel the series after those three. Which is true?

The Actors have had there contracts locked in for the next 4 years although that doesn't mean the show will go for that long.

Although i just posted a topic saying the simpsons have been renewed for another 2 years.

You may be thinking how come the actors are there for 4 years and FOX is there for 2. well there is two possibilities,

the first that the simpsons will be renewed and continue after the 2 years

or

Fox will drop the show and there may be another movie or another game

Well if fox drops them after 2years. yet they got the staff for 4 years yes they could be making a movie or game.

or they could go to cartoon network for adult swim (not a very high chance).

Or they could just say well we have had the best time of our life making the simpsons why not let it go.

I Don't see it being cancelled anytime soon.

The Simpsons is a major cashcow, FOX is taking advantage of this.

The Simpsons airs in heaps of countries worldwide, the stations that play the simpsons have to pay fox, Simpsons Fans are major collectors, Fox knows this, they get major money for DVD's through to action figures. Some of the Money made from Bongo Comics (The Simpsons Comics, Bart Simpson Comics, Radioactive Man Comics) goes to fox.

If Fox cancels the Simpsons they lose all that money. I Don't see it being cancelled anytime soon.

neither do I, but you never know. A lot of other old shows have been canceled even though they were pulling in millions with each new episode.
